What is our mission?

It is a sad fact that many faith Workers today feel more vulnerable and forgotten

The Faith Workers Branch of Unite the Union is open to all who work for a faith-based organisation, whether as an ordained or  recognised minister or a lay employee.

We recognise that different faiths and traditions use differing language to describe the relationship of their members,    adherents and those who are given support in order to serve or minister to them, and are open to a full range of such working relationships.

The Branch is split into ‘Workplace Groupings’ each one electing their own accredited representatives, if they have 4 or more ’Reps’ they can form a Workplace Committee. We have several of such committees; The Church of England Employees and    Clergy Advocates (CEECA), The Association of Methodist Faith Workers (AMFW), The United Reformed Church Faith Workers (URCFW), and The Church in Wales Faith Workers (CWFW). As each faith or denomination grows within the Branch it is hoped to see more workplace committees.

Our core values

The Faith Workers Branch is rooted in the universal values of social justice shared by faith traditions and the trade union    movement specifically:

· Fairness and dignity.

· Recognition and support for all,

· Best practice in where we work or minister.
